Update
Over the last 9 months, I have taken a break from writing my blog in order to put together my book. I did put together all 400+ pages. However, my content editor noted that the book was much more of a historical account of my own personal evolution versus a book that could help people in their own personal journey. I decided that what would be helpful would be a workbook. Therefore, I started on a workbook and after creating a workbook, I noted it was both a book and a workbook, so I have separated that workbook now into 2 books—I am hoping the workbook for clients will be completed by the end of July and the book that explains the concepts of my work will be completed by October. The original book will now become a compilation of the best of Mark’s blog to be published in 2023?—there are many great articles that I refer people to read and it would make life easier to have these articles in one book.
In the meantime, I have kept on studying and reading. One thing that was missing from my process was the theoretical research to back up the framework that I was using. I ended up fitting my work into Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB); however this did not enable my clients to really understand the concepts. While I was in Jamaica for the winter at the start of this year, I was able to integrate 3 frameworks that tied together the work I am doing with clients and which my clients could easily understand and made sense to them. I now call that program True Self Mind Mastery, which is now my signature coaching program.
When I made the decision to switch, it was as if a lightning bolt had struck and the heavens sang in chorus celebrating the decision. One of the many aspects of the program that I love is the transformational results are quantitatively (and qualitatively) measurable, as you will in the case study below.
True Self Mind Mastery Program
Successful financial planners, entrepreneurs, and others often struggle silently with burnout, feeling unfulfilled and broken relationships. My calling is to help them establish lasting inner transformation through a defined process that uncovers the root causes of their challenges so that they can thrive in work and life.
The True Self Mind Mastery Program is a 3-month program that is comprised of 3 components:
Part I: PQ Mental Fitness Training: Build Neuroplasticity to Facilitate Transformation
(6 weeks)
In the first six weeks, we start with what I consider the best program of mental fitness training, PQ—Positive Intelligence. This helps to build the "mental muscles" to increase your awareness, respond to the saboteurs of your ego-based mind, and shift into your True Self. Based on neuroscience, cognitive-behavioral psychology, positive psychology, performance science, and original research by Shirzad Chamine, Positive Intelligence helps you to train your mind to interrupt saboteurs of your ego-based mind and move into the Sage powers of your True Self to improve well-being, increase performance, and create better relationships.
Part II: IFS: Unburden Past Events and Traumas to Create Transformation and Joy
(15 Hours of 10 Individual Sessions)
Our curated individual session is a transformational journey that will help you to remember your True Self, unburden past events and little “t” traumas, and find and transform the deep inner causes that prevent you from being the person who you seek to become.
You will go through an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed framework, augmented by RIM and Clear Beliefs, that supports you to make changes at the core that brings sustainable results in all aspects of your life. You will notice unconscious programs and limiting beliefs shift and allow you to let go of past stories, be open to the present moment, and create your future dream life with joy, flow, and ease. IFS is one of the most promising developmental trauma technologies that has been shown in one complex trauma study to have eliminated PTSD symptoms for 12 of the 13 participants who completed the 16-session treatment protocol.
Part III: ACT+: 21+ Advanced Mental & Emotional Tools to Sustain Transformation
(6 weeks)
In the second six weeks, we’ll add 21+ advanced mental and emotional tools including the 6 processing tools from ACT and others from mindful self-compassion, Optimize.me, Canfield Success Principles, Somatic Experiencing, and others. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) employs 6 major processing tools to alleviate people’s problems and promote their flourishing: acceptance, diffusion, being present, self-as-context, values, and committed action. The core 6 processes of ACT increase psychological flexibility and distills into the smallest set that does the most good, accounting for 55% of all studies that have shown process changes. The other tools from other disciplines help to reinforce the psychological flexibility needed to sustain transformation. Without these advanced tools, the work done in Part II often is not permanent or there is major regression.
James Case Study
This is an actual case study with real results and actual testimony of the early results from using the new framework. The names and a few details of the case have been changed for confidentiality purposes. The client has approved using this case to help others who are thinking about whether the True Self Mind Mastery program is right for them.
Client Presentation
James has worked in the financial services industry for nearly two decades. He is extremely successful and respected by both clients and peers. However, he continued to harbor challenges that held him back that he connected to a difficult childhood mainly due to his father’s undiagnosed PTSD from experiences in the war which led to being raised under strict military discipline.
Despite ongoing therapy as a teenager and young adult, his significant anger issues continued and impacted his relationship with his father. Despite his business success, James had significant anxiety and distress around self-imposed work-related stresses and unspoken expectations. He came to work with me after multiple attempts to improve his business by working with well-known coaches in the financial industry focused on productivity, practice management, and growth mindsets. Eventually, he knew something must change after close friends began suggesting that if he continued this way, they were afraid he may have a stroke.
Coaching Process
During the first year, we made tremendous progress to unburden some of the past trauma and difficult events James experienced. This work was accomplished in the True Self Mind Mastery program with the old framework. Within this process he was able to establish a new foundation with three outcomes: rescue his inner child, install new empowering core beliefs and transform the inner critic into an inner coach.
About a year later, James realized he was ready to continue to the next level of his personal evolution. While he now had “peace of mind” during meditation, he wanted to have that feeling also throughout the day and in his interactions with others. I suggested he complete the PQ program to be completed with 5 coaching sessions over 3 months. The PQ program was delivered in a user-friendly app that required 5 minutes of work as part of his morning success ritual, a few 2-minute check-in’s per day, and a one-hour weekly educational video provided over the weekend.

PQ Saboteur Assessment
The client’s PQ Saboteur Assessment shows a reduction in all scores for all the saboteurs. Large gains were made with the Stickler (perfectionist tendencies) and the Hyper-rational, both being specific focuses during the program.
ACT Advisor
ACT Advisor scores provide a baseline for the 6 key areas of mental wellness. PQ Scores help identify which mental saboteurs are strongest and the degree of the negative impact they have on the mind which directly interferes with performance.
James saw significant improvement in all ACT categories with the exception of motivation. This reflected that he took meaningful control over his life and the motivation score lowering was reflective of the fact the client was no longer being run by old externally imposed expectations. As a result of the program, he was now re-evaluating the significance of his life priorities and values leading to a temporary increase in uncertainty but highlighting the need to re-align to his new sense of self and clarity around his values.
